SERVICES TO ACHIEVE RECOVERY
September 2010
Who receives STAR treatment?
STAR Team treatment is for people who experience severe and persistent symptoms of mental illness. Because of the severe nature of these symptoms, some individuals have a lot of trouble simply taking care of their basic needs, protecting themselves, maintaining safe and adequate housing, or staying employed. People who receive STAR Community Treatment Team services often have spent a lot of time in hospitals or living in unfavorable environments. These persons may have problems with drugs and alcohol or have been in trouble with the police because of their illness.
