Please join FACES as we welcome John Tyler, Program Manger of the Chesterfield Mental Health Crisis team to learn about the specialists that are trained to assist individuals who are having serious, life-threatening mental-health problems, and how they provide information and recommendations to callers on how to de-escalate crisis situations.
Find out how immediate attention is given to problem solving, safety planning and assessing risk factors. Staff is trained to evaluate the risk of potential harm to the person in crisis or others, or the inability to care for oneself as a result of a serious mental illness. In addition, staff is trained to evaluate whether an individual requires immediate psychiatric hospitalization. As needed, Emergency Services staff may also refer individuals to other agencies or community services for additional support
